I Organization Charter

Crimson Wing (created  Feb 1996) is a casual PVE/RP/PVP Raiding and Event oriented organization in every game that we are a part of. Basically this means that we are a group of people that have prior commitments in our lives and cannot adhere to a strict raiding or event schedule but still wish to experience end game content as well as events with the help and participation of our members. Both our raiding and event schedules allow for greater flexibility of those who work and attend school full time while still allowing us to progress in the game.

Our average age range is approx 25 - 45 with a few above and below that range. We are a mature content organization and we do not recommend that those under 18 apply. This is not to say that we do not make exceptions to that rule but above all we look at maturity and the ability to work as a team. We take no resposibility for the loss of internet or computer privileges due to things your Guardians might see or hear.

We are not a guild, we are a family. This family is composed of like minded people from around the planet with different skin tones, accents, belief systems, and upbringings. Despite that, we come together over VoIP, Video Games, and a common desire to have fun and surpass all of that.

We do not recruit characters, avatars, toons, or users. We recruit People! Living, breathing people with husbands, wives, kids, significant others and lives. We are not looking for the glory hounds of the internet, we do not feel the need to prove anything to anyone with "phat loots" and bosses killed, it is not our style. We do not r0XoR n00bz oMg wtf BBQ!

We will have raids, RP events, and PvP groupings scheduled by the Officers in charge of those wings, and are always willing to speak with a member that wishes to become an Officer to host groups on other nights.

Again just to be clear: Crimson Wing is a CASUAL organization and that by "casual" we mean we do NOT raid or run events 5 nights a week, that the schedule can change due to unforeseen issues, we care much more for the well being of our players and their families over the content in ANY game and that there can, and will be down time and you may actually have to entertain yourself.

II Organization Rules

Crimson Wing has no intention of micromanaging our members, and we want each and every person to be able to log in and enjoy their-self, so you will find our rules to be straightforward and simple.

1) The Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. (Simple translation) Don't be a douche, treat people with respect, be nice and you will be treated the same.

2) When a member logs on and says hi, if you are not really busy, take a sec and greet them, as it builds community and lets each member know they are important enough to be recognized.

3) If someone asks a question and no one answers, not even to say "I don't know" then the person asking the question feels ignored. Let it happen to you once and you will understand.

4) If you sign up for an event of any type, please do your best to make it there on time. Everyone else is counting on you to keep your word.

5) Crimson Wing has a naming policy, and each name will be approved on a character by character basis. (In other words, put some thought into your character name, do not try to make it silly, stupid or off the wall to gain attention. MAKE IT RPable) We will enforce each game's naming policy.

6) Crimson Wing has Raid member guidelines that we ask you follow, they can be found here

7) We have designed and use our own loot system, which you can find here

8) Crimson Wing works on a 3 strike/your gone policy, which is more than fair to give each member a chance to change their ways or attitude.

III Organization Breakdown

SECTION I ORGANIZATION LEADERSHIP

Commander (CD)

The Commander is the overall authority of the organization. The CD, with the aid of the ACD, handles all political dealings, treaties, alliances, matters of war, and organization policy. It is up to the CD as to how the execution of these duties will be carried out and by whom.

Assistant Commander (ACD

The Assistant Commander is there to do just what his name implies, assist the CD in the execution of his duties. The CD nominates the ACD, and the ACD may perform what duties the CD delegates, and may serve for as long as the CD desires. The ACD would assume all duties of the CD should the CD not be able to.

Special Officers (Branch Leader, Officers, etc as needed per game)

Veteran (Crimson Wing Core Members)

Vetrans are full members who have completed all of the probationary requirements for membership. Members are prmoted to the rank of Veteran upon completion of their member requirements within a Branch. The CD/ACD may assign special duties and/or ranks to Veterans under certain circumstances. Veterans will educate the probationary and Branch members in organization law and history, as well as keep them informed of ongoing organization activities.

Branch Member

Branch members are people who joined the organization in a particular game, and have shown enough aptitude to remain with us and help us achieve our goals. If they measure up, they can apply for promotion to Core Member (Veteran). Otherwise normal Branch members will hold the same status in this organization indefinately.

Probationary Member (Proby)

Probationary members are aspirants to the organization. They undergo a series of trials and rigorous training in order to prove their worth and loyalty to the organization. The probationary process is designed to separate the strong from the weak and ensure that we retain only the very best in our ranks, and those that are willing to work cooperatively with other organization members to a common goal.

Probationary status is generally a minimum of 30 days of evaluation, but the organization or leadership may request additional time.

SECTION III PROMOTION STANDARDS

The availability for an aspirant to be promoted in the organization are determined upon their willingness to integrate into the membership of the group and show the loyalty and devotion that the organization shows them.

Proby to Member

At least 30 days in good standing in a Branch of the organization.
Contributions in some form of positive way to the organization.
Demonstrate an understanding of the organization.

Member to Veteran

At least 8 months in good standing in a Branch in the organization.
Documented contributions in some form of positive way to the organization.
Demonstrate an understanding of the organization and Branch structures as well as an effort to learn more about all of the Branches past and present.

Vertan to Special Officer

Special Officers are promoted as needed on a per game/Branch basis and may be placed in the rank of Veteran when the postition is no longer needed as a show of gratitude for serving.

SECTION IV CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE

Discipline

Leadership can take action to discipline, demote or remove any member who conducts him/herself in an improper way. Examples of Improper conduct may be, but are not limited to, slandering the organization publicly, inciting internal strife within the organization, insubordination, or tarnishing the organization's image/name.

Removal - Involuntary

Any Core or Branch member that is removed from the organization via a disciplinary action may be forever barred from returning to Crimson Wing. Such persons will not have site, forum, or ventrilo access and will not be invited to official organization activities.

SECTION V ORGANIZATION INACTIVITY

A organization member, whether Core or Branch, upon wishing to stop playing a game for any reason, but still desires to game with the organization in the future must petition thier Branch leader for permission to go inactive. The Branch leader will review the member's performance, and will make a decision.

Branch members who have official inactive status will lose access to all Branch forums, and their membership category will be switched to "Inactive". The only private forum they will retain access to will be the private "Branch Member News & Beta" forum until they actively join another Branch. Core members will be able to view core Crimson Wing forums, but not individual Branch forums.

While inactive, a member may NOT join another organization on any server in the game he went inactive from. The member is also prohibited from joining another organization in a game where Crimson Wing has an official Branch presence. Violation of this clause shall result in immediate dismissal.

If a member does not petition for inactive status, but simply disappears for longer than 30 days, he shall be removed from the organization. Those in prior good standing wishing to rejoin the organization in the same game may do so at the discretion of the Branch leader. Those wishing to join the organization in another game must reapply and repeat any probationary term.

Those members who have not reached Branch member rank are not permitted to go inactive, and must reapply for any subsequent Crimson Wing game.

SECTION VI RECRUITMENT AND RECRUITMENT STANDARDS

All Branchs will recruit based on the following format:

Step One: Read Crimson Wing Code of Ethics. Read these carefully, as they govern organization policy, which you are subject to as a Probationary Branch member.

Step Two: Read any special Branch provisions (if any) that are applicable to the gaming Branch you wish to join.

Step Three: Fill out an application in the required format which will then be reviewed by that Branch's leader if required. Failure to complete the application as requested may cause it to be permanently rejected.

Step Four: Download the VoIP program we use, as it is a required program for all Raid members and suggested for all. Current VoIP program information can be found in a sticky thread in each Branch's forum set.

The Recruitment Rundown

Once you are accepted, it is up to you to integrate into the organization. We are very team oriented and we quickly assimilate those who show themselves to be team players. We have no tolerance for people who do their own thing, fight over senseless bullshit, or who want to be on the "A Team" for groups without first paying their dues.

SECTION VIII RETURN ON INVESTMENT (ROI)

If you sign up for a Crimson Wing game and utilize organization time and resources towards developing your character (meaning we put you in organization groups, give you access to organization gear, etc) and you bail on us inside of 90 days, you will be flagged as a bad ROI. If you are flagged as a bad ROI you will not be allowed to utilize organization resources if you return to that game, you will not be given priority in PVE or PVP grouping situations, and you will have to do a full 90 days in that game before being taken off the ROI list.

If you leave prior to 90 days and do not return to the organization game, then you will be flagged for the next game. That means in the next game you may not be allowed to game with the organization at all. If you are allowed to game with the organization you will be the last person we put in PVP and PVE groups, and you will need to find your own way of obtaining gear to equip yourself. If you hang through a full 90 days under these circumstances and go the extra mile to help out where needed, then you will be removed from the ROI list.

Exceptions

You post in the appropriate Branch forum and gain leadership's permission to be absent.

There is no other exception that will be authorized. In-between games and prior to the new game, we will publish an ROI list so that people know where they stand.

Reasoning

When we go into a new game, we depend on the organization members who sign up. It takes approximately 30-45 days to get a good organization setup and moving ahead in a new game, and approximately 90 days to develop enough of a recruitment pool to absorb core member loses. We also need members to help train and orient new members to the organization. Losing people rapidly over 90 days can collapse the organization in a game, and that can be a black mark on our long history of success.

Core Crimson Wing and Branch members are expected to go the extra mile for the organization, and those who don't are not entitled to a continuous seat at our table. So think long and hard before you sign up for any future games, because that signature will be your bond. If you break it, then you are simply helping to set the organization up for failure and that will not be allowed.

SECTION IX JOINING A NEW GAME BRANCH

Everyone holding Vetran rank and below will be required to fill out a formal application if required in order to join any organization Branch. You will not be added to any Branch user group or given any private Branch forum access until you have completed an application. The reasoning behind this is so there is no doubt on someone's status within a Branch. So if you fill out an application to join the Branch, you are considered to be an actively participating Branch member.

SECTION X NEW BRANCH PETITION

Crimson Wing will not sanction any official Branch unless there is at least one active voting Council member willing to participate. The role of the Crimson Wing Council member would be to oversee the Branch, orient the new leadership and ensure that the Branch meets organization standards. If a member is interested in expanding Crimson Wing's presence into a new game world, they will contact a Council member who will bring it before organization leadership.
